Why We’re Participating in Darkness to Daylight
At UnitingCare, and across Family and Disability Services, we walk alongside people every day who are impacted by domestic and family violence. We see the effects on individuals, children and families, and we know that safety, respect and dignity are not a given for everyone.
That’s why we’re taking part in Darkness to Daylight.
This event is a visible way for us to stand with our communities and show our collective commitment to prevention, early intervention and support. Every step we take represents those who have experienced violence, those who continue to show courage and resilience, and those whose lives have been tragically lost.
Our participation reflects what we stand for as an organisation – compassion in action, accountability to our communities, and a belief that change is possible when we come together. Funds raised through Darkness to Daylight support education, awareness and prevention initiatives that help address the drivers of violence and create safer communities for everyone.
We’re proud to be part of this movement and to walk alongside others who share a commitment to ending domestic and family violence. Whether by walking, running or supporting our team, each contribution helps strengthen the collective effort to create lasting change.

Challenge DV
Challenge DV is on a mission to end domestic and family violence. Through specialised training, powerful advocacy and impactful programs, we partner with all corners of the community - from schools to workplaces, sporting clubs and local businesses - to challenge violence and change lives. Understanding that instilling change takes a collective effort, we provide community members with the knowledge and confidence they need to take a stand against abuse, empowering them to be part of the solution to this public health crisis. Together, we are fostering safer, more inclusive environments for all and creating a world where everyone lives with the safety, dignity and respect they deserve.
