Story
Why I’m Participating in Darkness to Daylight
In Australia on average 110 people (overwhelmingly women) are killed by domestic and family violence (largely men's violence) every year. In 2024, 103 women were murdered and 15 children. Darkness to Daylight is a 110km run/walk, where each kilometre represents one of those lives lost. Every step I take in Darkness to Daylight is a step towards raising my voice for those affected by domestic and family violence. Statistically, the most unsafe place for a woman in Australia is in her own home. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported in their own home and unfortunately, many don’t have that luxury, and it’s time we come together to make a change.
By committing to be a part of this challenge, I’m standing in solidarity with survivors and honouring the lives that have been lost.
Your generous donation will directly fund life-saving programs that educate communities, provide crucial resources, and empower individuals to break the cycle of violence.
Together, we can spark change, raise awareness, and build a safer future where no one has to suffer in silence. Every donation—no matter how big or small—brings us one step closer to ending domestic and family violence.
Please consider supporting by donating to my fundraising page today. Your contribution will make a real difference. Thank you
