End Domestic and Family Violence and help me raise funds through the Darkness to Daylight Challenge!

In Australia on average 110 people die from Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) every year.

I’m participating in Darkness to Daylight (D2D) - a 110km run - where each kilometre represents one of those lives lost. It’s a long distance, it’s physically and mentally demanding but knowing the funds raised go towards DFV prevention makes it all worth it.

My mum, brother and I suffered DFV. Reading this, you may be able to relate as you may be a DFV survivor, or you may someone close to you who is. Please help me raise funds to go toward ending DFV in Australia! The last day will be a walk/jog/run in the city and some of my colleagues and I are planning to do it in Tutus.

Took a couple of days longer than the 31 days, but only for to the final event being postponed, which I will still participate in on the 28th of this month.

But, we got there, both in steps and in money raised, thanks to my amazing sponsors and contributors ❤️

Friday 20th May

Weather and sickness is slowing my progress meaning I'm going to have to find creative ways to get my steps in. I went from needing 3.5km a day up to 5 a day for the next 10 days.

No one said it was going to be easy. On that note, including yet to be paid commitments I'm up to around $650 in donations, with only 11 more days to go. What kind of crazy things can I do to encourage some of you who haven't donated to throw in some cash to get us over the line?

Hey you, the legend reading this.

My name is Jaime. I work for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services. I also volunteer for the SES, but this isn't about me. It's about you. Yeah you. Something got you to my page, maybe you have been a victim of domestic violence or you know someone who has. It's almost guaranteed you fall under one of those categories because it's so prevalent in our society. So let's end that!

I set a target of $1,100, which is $10 for every kilometer I'll be walking through the month of May. It also represents $10 for every life lost to domestic and family violence in Australia.

I've kicked the campaign off with $50 and if 21 of you donate $50 each, we can hit that $1,100 goal. Thanks in advance for giving generously, I really appreciate it.
